Site Progress

As a long time fan of Doctor Who, this will be a website dedicated to sharing my enjoyment, viewing and reviewing of the show. I started the site on Weebly in July 2011 and most of my focus has tended to be in the blog (DVD reviews as I buy new ones, or episode reviews as the series is broadcast) but now I've moved to Blogger for various reasons and given it a slight make-over so naturally it's still growing... it needs more pictures, the Doctors pages need to be completed and the Companions pages need to be started but I'm getting there... but keep an eye on the Updates...

Background introduction

I was born around the time of the show's peak and it was always part of my life as I grew up... until I hit my teens, by which time it had been axed and dropped off our TV screens with very little hope of returning. As time went on, that hope evaporated at the point when it should have been fuelled... A TV movie that should have kick-started the TARDIS again fell like a wet tissue from a desperate fan's tear stained face (over dramatic, soggy and best forgotten!)

A sprinkling of rumours as the millennium drew to an end passed with a slightly bitter chuckle before the TARDIS finally rematerialised in a new series after 16 years. A whole new generation fell in love with it and the generations that went before were happy to pick up where they left off, almost, as if it had just been on holiday, kind of.

And so to today, the birth of this site on which I intend to gather details and write reviews of all episodes from the past and keep up with the new ones. I have some initial scoring that I have done for many of the older episodes and some reviews, of sorts, for the newer ones so I will probably gather these in a meaningful way first and then open up my DVD cases from the beginning and gradually add each adventure to the blog...

I love Doctor Who and I hope to share that love with everyone here. I try not to be the crazy fan that lives, breathes and wears the show at all times but as a fairly pedantic analytical geek, it's hard not to pick up the details and trivia... and there's so much of it!

This looks like a reasonably small and basic site so far, but as time moves on, I expect this place to really feel so much bigger on the inside!
